Patient Information About Our Austin Dentist Office

We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you are in pain or have a dental emergency, we will make every attempt to see you that day.

We know you are busy and we try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. However, various circumstances may extend the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency cases can also arise and cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

New Patients

At myDental, we believe that the foundation of a long-term relationship is established at your first visit to our practice. Our goal at your first visit is to make you as comfortable as possible and acknowledge your personal dental needs. We will complete a thorough comprehensive dental evaluation, which includes:

  • Full mouth digital X-Rays
  • Oral cancer screening and exam
  • Diagnosing your immediate dental concerns
  • Reviewing your past medical and dental history
  • One-on-one consultation to discuss your needs, concerns, and goals
  • Creating a treatment plan that provides for your optimal dental health

First Visit

At your initial appointment, one of our dentists will conduct a thorough examination and review treatment options with you. We can typically treat you the same day or at least begin treatment if it requires multiple visits. If you have a complex medical history or treatment plan, however, we will schedule your treatment for another day to ensure we block ample time for you.  Please bring the following information to your initial consultation:

  • Any X-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable. If additional X-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking
  • Completed insurance forms; this will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
  • Picture ID and, if using, insurance card

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also, please let us know if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc., and if you are currently taking any medication (e.g., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

Insurance and Payment Options

myDental accepts insurance plans from Aetna, Ameritas, Assurant, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Dental Select, DentaQuest, FCL Dental, Guardian, Humana, Lincoln Financial, MCNA, MetLife, Mutual of Omaha, Principal, TMHP, Tricare, UniCare, United Concordia and UnitedHealthcare. Not all insurances accepted at all locations – please see each location’s page for insurances accepted at that location.

For services not covered by insurance, we offer affordable myDental Care Plans (see below) and no-interest flexible financing options such as CareCredit® and Scratchpay.  We also accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
